New details and identities released in apparent murder-suicide in Milledgeville

They were a couple who had recently broken up, according to Steve Chapple of the Baldwin County Coroner's Office.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — We now know the names of the two people who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Milledgeville.

According to Major Brad King, the victims are 24-year-old Shyneshia Causey and 27-year-old Eddie Swint. They were a couple who had recently broken up, according to Steve Chapple of the Baldwin County Coroner's Office.

It happened on 191 Old Stage Road around 8 p.m.

Deputies arrived afterward for a welfare check on Causey. She was at the home on Old Stage Road to remove her things, King said.

The Sheriff's Office received another call to do a welfare check on Swint when neither his nor Causey's family could get ahold of them.

The couple was found dead when deputies arrived.

King says their investigation shows that Swint shot Causey and then himself. He says the couple broke up just before Thanksgiving.

He says the couple were together for a few years and moved into a year ago. He said this was the first time the Sheriff's Office received a call about the couple.

He said there is no need for further investigation.
